Ave has always been deeply offended when everything is not about him but especially when his Leviathan hook-up buddy isn’t there just to sex him up.
Watchers are a race of demons that guard the Abyss, which is basically Hell’s prison. They have no purpose other than to watch the Abyss for all of eternity to ensure what is meant to stay inside… stays inside.
Leviathans, which Levios is, are not technically demons but rather an ancient race of powerful creatures that have had long associations with demons. This association has led to the common belief among mortals that Leviathans are, themselves, also demons. The Leviathans fall somewhere between mortals and Infernals, they are immortal creatures and are capable of similar magics to demons (such as transporting themselves instantaneously) but the bulk of the Leviathan’s power lies in its physical strength. Royal Leviathans are able to tap into greater and more destructive powers.
While many demons can change their form at will and several varieties of demon can choose the forms they take, Leviathans only have their true form which is more monstrous and large and a more human form which is unchangeable.
Last bit of trivia regarding Levios and Ave; Similar to Ave being the prince and heir of Volocarn, Levios is the son of the current reigning Leviathan (the reigning Leviathan is typically referred to as The Leviathan), essentially also making Levios a prince. Ave and Levios met when they were still very young and have kept in contact throughout the centuries. When they both came of age they began a more intimate relationship, with many in Hell wondering if they would perhaps choose each other as mates which would mean a serious and meaningful partnership between Hell and the Leviathans. Levios and Ave, however, were really only looking to enjoy each other’s company when needed and didn’t want to become mates, so they began continuing their physical relationship in secret, leading many to believe there had been a falling out between the two.
This eventually led to Levios being known in Hell as the ex-lover of Prince Aveodus, hence Not Your Average Ex.
